Maple Glazed Salmon
Ingredients:
• Seafood:
o 1 1/2 lbs salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless, as preferred)
• Produce:
o 1 garlic clove, minced
• Condiments:
o 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
o 1 tsp Dijon mustard
o 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
• Baking & Spices:
o 1/4 heaping tsp kosher salt
• Oils & Vinegars:
o 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Glaze:
o In a small bowl, combine the balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, minced garlic, and kosher salt. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and well-combined. Set aside.
2. Cook the Salmon:
o Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the salmon fillets to the pan, skin-side down (if the fillets have skin). Cook for 4-5 minutes without moving the fish, allowing the skin to crisp up (if using skin-on fillets).
o Carefully flip the salmon fillets and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the salmon is just cooked through and easily flakes with a fork. If your fillets are thick, you may need a minute or two longer. The exact cooking time will depend on the thickness of the fillets.
3. Glaze the Salmon:
o Once the salmon is nearly cooked, pour the prepared maple glaze over the fillets. Let it cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the glaze to thicken slightly and coat the salmon. You can also spoon the glaze over the salmon to ensure it's evenly coated.
4. Serve:
o Remove the salmon from the skillet and transfer to a serving plate. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the pan over the top for extra flavor.
o Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or a simple salad.
